Celebration in Aibel

Stavanger, 30 June 2010. - ‘We are extremely pleased that Statoil has shown renewed confidence in Aibel with the award of the maintenance and modification agreements. This further strengthens Aibel's position, and demonstrates that Statoil has confidence in us as a supplier,' says Jan Skogseth, President and CEO in Aibel AS, after the award was announced.

Current contracts
Aibel currently has a significant portion of Statoil’s total frame agreements for maintenance and modification work. The two new contracts now increase the company’s portion, both onshore and offshore.

The following offshore facilities are included in Aibel’s new frame agreements:
Statfjord A, B and C, Oseberg F, C, E and S, Huldra, Veslefrikk, Njord A and B, Kristin and Norne. In addition, the Kårstø (including Draupner), Kollsnes, Sture and Snøhvit onshore facilities are included.

Aibel estimates that the yearly contract value will be in excess of 2 billion NOK. The total value for the whole contract period of 4 years is estimated to be in the region of 8 – 9 billion NOK.

The contracts include maintenance services, modifications, studies and project management, as well as purchasing, fabrication, and installation with commissioning.

Aibel has substantial experience within maintenance and modification work, and has good procedures in place for quality, project execution, cost control, and health, safety and environment.

Need for more employees
Today’s award means that more work will be allocated to all of Aibel’s offices in Norway. The award is especially important for Hammerfest and Harstad, both for Aibel employees and also with a view to the positive spin-off effects that the award will have in the local communities. In Hammerfest, Aibel has an established joint venture agreement with Hammerfest Industriservice (HIS). In Harstad, Aibel cooperates with Momek.

Aibel is expanding, and this award means increased employment at all of the company’s offices. There has been increased recruitment activity for some time, and the new frame agreements mean that this work will now be intensified.
